I came to stay with my Grandma because she wanted me to take care of her. She is 89 years young and needs some help but is in no way absent minded. When we (my husband and I) arrived she had been feeding three stray cats, a mother and her two adult female cats. They were all thre pregnant! We could not catch them before they had their babies. Soon she had 14 cats. Two of the mothers had three kittens and the original mother had a whopping six kittens. One of the kittens died at the hands of a nasty evil neighbor we believe. It took my husband and I several months and many hours of lost sleep to trap these cats one by one and take them to be fixed at my Grandmas expense. We have done exactly as she has asked us to I am glad we were able to help her with her cats. She has decided to allow them all to live on her property and will continue to feed them all. We have made outdoor insulated cat houses for all of them and the houses sit under our back porch. We also trained all the cats to poop in one spot in the yard that we put bricks around added some soft dirt and sand to and tagged it cat garden. This has kept the cats from bothering neighbors yards. We also enclosed most of the yard encouraging the cats to stay on our property. They have outside toys and luxuries. Some of the cats even come inside at night to sleep. We learned all of these tips for caring for feral cats off the internet. It has taken a lot of reading up on but I think we got this !
