I am not a writer by profession, but I write by the passion that engulfs my heart and spells out my emotions as freely as my fingers will click. Writing about my thoughts, feelings and experiences is incredibly cathartic for me. I write to share about Lao cuisine, culture and candid life moments in hopes of inspiring my own children to love and embrace the Lao culture and heritage the way I have come to love and appreciate it. I attribute my passion for most things Lao to the way my ethnocentrically proud Lao parents taught us. They're long gone from this world, and that's why I am very passionate about passing down their heartwarming Lao legacy to my own children. I am a proud product of their culturally Lao life, and I want to raise my children in a culturally fun and stimulating home as I was raised. I hope my children will have a greater sense of who they are and where their mom and grandparents came from. In today's society of modernism and changes, I hope to keep constant my Lao Life.

In creating this blog website, I wanted to give to my children and future grandchildren the same beautiful gifts my Mae and Pa passed on to me. Even if they may not appreciate the Lao culture in its entirety right now, I believe one day they will come to truly embrace their cultural upbringing and gush with pride at how special and unique they are. We live in the Melting Pot, but that does not mean our culture should melt away in the pot of cultures. It should stand on its own as one of the key ingredients that makes the Melting Pot so beautiful.
