Souvenir Scenic Studios
Quality Scenery Building in London and Abroad
Ever since its founding in 1988, Souvenir Scenic Studios has been producing high-quality theatrical scenery and customised props to clientele around the world. Simon Kenny founded the company and has helped grow its reputation with leading names in productions throughout the West End, as well as with productions in opera and ballet. Souvenir Scenic Studios has also become a well-known force in the fashion industry, and has been called upon by top names like Louis Vuitton, Top Shop, Christian Dior and Burberry. The work that Souvenir Scenic Studios has done in this industry has taken the company to locations throughout the UK, as well as Japan, Italy, and France.
Of particular note is the relationship Souvenir Scenic Studios has established with Alexander McQueen. The unique designs that Souvenir Scenic Studios has implemented for this top designer’s work have received extensive critical acclaim, including the Kate Moss Pepper’s Ghost that was completed for McQueen in 2006. That particular display involved Souvenir Scenic Studios utilising a 19th century optical device, which was used to project an ethereal image of the supermodel upon a pyramid constructed entirely of glass. Critics referred to it as an unbridled spectacle. Other signature pieces done for fashion professionals by Souvenir Scenic Studios have included the Fuzzy Felt backdrop that was created for the 2008 Paris show of Stella McCartney, as well as a unique golf course for the London show she did later that year.
Work by Souvenir Scenic Studios has appeared in Vienna as well. Implementing a design done by Gideon Ponte, Souvenir Scenic Studios installed an exhibition in Vienna for the Marios Schwab Chiarascura. Raw crystals of various colours were incorporated by Souvenir Scenic Studios with an infinity mirror box, and there were also a myriad of artefacts encrusted in crystals, along with a projection mirror. Souvenir Scenic Studios was also responsible for building and painting the show floor for ‘War Horse Holland’ which took place in Amsterdam, at the Royal Theatre Carre in the summer of 2014. In addition to its various fashion and theatrical productions, Souvenir Scenic Studios has been utilised by numerous photographers at the top of their industry, including Nick Knight, Mario Testino and David Sims.
