I have been teaching Medieval, Modern and Political History; Culture and Historiography at the University of Málaga and the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED).

As a teacher, I am always in a constant learning process, very interested in Educational innovation, eLearning and the use of Technology as Educational resources, but regarding the importance of theoretical contents. Because of this, I have organized and taken part in more than twenty courses and workhops of Teacher Training during the last years.

I have been Invited professor in several universities: Institución Milá i Fontanals (CSIC, Barcelona, Spain); CIHAM (Histoire, archéologie, littératures des mondes chrétiens et musulmans médiévaux, Université de Lyon II, France; Centre for Medieval Studies, University of Toronto, Canada; and Departamento de Historia Medieval, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.

I have published several articles on Early Medieval Geography and Visigothic Taxation.
