Sowndharya Maheswaran

Hi all, this is Sowndharya! :) I’m an iOS Developer residing in Mountain View, California and hailing from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Wrote my first “Hello World!” program as a 13-year old and have been in love with coding ever since.

More of a math-aficionado, I spent half my under-graduate years playing with data structures and algorithms. During the latter half, I was introduced to a whole new paradigm of developing Apps. Started out as an Android developer and went about creating Apps for small businesses in my family. Later employed this domain for solving my daily life problems ranging from how I manage my screen time on my smartphone to an App that helps me find expert tutors in and around my locality.

After college, I started my career as an iOS developer in Zoho where I embarked upon another interest of mine - Writing code that can be used across Apps and not just for the product I work on.

I kept working on that skill - To make life easier for fellow developers :) And manifested it into landing on a role at Google as an iOS framework developer for the Google Nest suite of products.

I did eventually go back to App development on the Youtube App for the sheer joy of shipping code to hands of end users. And true to nature, it has been nothing short of ecstatic to get real-time feedback.

The journey continues as I keep marching forward, seeking inspiration.
