Spencer Svonavec

Spencer Svonavec is a Pennsylvania native and the owner of Simkol Corp and Rockwood Stone, two American-owned operations headquartered in Rockwood. He comes from a fourth-generation surface coal mining background and built a practical trade base through apprenticeship with mechanics, welders, equipment operators, and farmers. He graduated from PA Cyber School in 2022, using early morning study time so he could spend full workdays learning field operations.

His work includes operating permitted surface mining and aggregate operations in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Spencer Svonavec focuses on dependable production and consistent material output, with responsible extraction and planned land restoration treated as part of the job. He values his skilled team and currently employs 55 people.

Through Rockwood Stone, Spencer supports long-duration aggregate production for infrastructure-related use. Spencer Svonavec is the son of Jason Svonavec and Angela Svonavec, and his work remains closely tied to Rockwood and the regional economy. Outside of work, he is an outdoor sporting enthusiast with a strong appreciation for nature.
