Spencer graduated from the University of Washington in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and in 2014 with a Master's degree in Accounting.

After graduation, Spencer worked at the consulting firm PwC as an Accountant and later a Management Consultant. While working on large cross-functional projects he developed an intuition for approaching and solving complex business problems, along with recognizing the value of understanding data to drive decision making.Leaving PwC to volunteer as a Community Economic Development adviser with the Peace Corps in Costa Rica, Spencer tapped into this long-held interests of programming and statistical modeling by learning via online courses, podcasts, and books.

After returning to the United States, he accelerated his learning by formally training with Metis. Here he developed a suite of data skills and competencies exemplified in his portfolio, which can be found at the GitHub link below and in his blog linked above.
