BACKGROUND INFO

Sportsman Steel Safes is a wholesale safes and vaults manufacturer. It was founded in 1979 by Fred Hand, an AAA skeet shooter and sportsman enthusiast. He had a goal to create "the best gun safe company in the United States." He ultimately revolutionized the industry by developing gun safes with one-quarter inch steel bodies and enormous one-half inch thick doors. In 1991 Hand's son Kevin, also made significant strides for company by introducing the 2300 Degree Ceramic fire system along with the Crown Series. Additionally, he founded his own company Pentagon Safes and continues to work with his father as well.
