Nada Collins
I am 46 years young. I have 3 adult children & 6 grandchildren. I love to enjoy God's creative side by hiking with my service animals; T-Bone and Ms. Lifesaver (Missy or when in trouble for chewing on my boots Munch). Music soothes my soul. Children keep me young. I consider myself an activist. In 1999, Pres. Bush, Sr. commissioned a group to help identify mental health needs of Americans. I was on that panel. Great strides were made in Mental Health Awareness because of this group. I volunteer my education/talent(s) due to inability to obtain gainful employment because I have suffered 3 spinal cord compression injuries @ 5 levels of my cervical spine; employers think I am an insurance risk...lol. Currently giving time to fellow Histio Warriors, people who suffer depression issues, and mentoring children. I think it is safe to say, I love to share life with a smile. I beat uterine/cervical cancer. Am in remission (so far) for a rare disease called Langerhan's Cell Histiocytosis, (caused the spinal injuries, cancer & other symptoms misread for 38 years). Long story short, I am a fighter: for what is right, survival, and the underdogs of society. I have been known to volunteer at NAMI, local mental health agencies, Meal-on-Wheels, senior centers, and mentoring the children of my neighborhood. My motto? Life is a learning experience. Once you learn something you must do your best to share that knowledge by teaching it to others. My current passion are: Photography (Santa brought me a new camera this year), are Disease Awareness, over 7000 of them that are misdiagnosed, under researched, and killing children and adults indeterminately internationally.
