Spread a smile - Kenya

Kisumu, Kenya

Spread a smile is a community initiative initiated by Njue Duncan M in early March 2014. The project seeks to promote education in primary schools in Kenya by enabling little kids access education more comfortably. If we had a chance to access education equally we shouldnt forget the basic items that every child desires to own: a shoe, a book, some pair of socks or maybe a comfortable desk. It is this need that this project was initiated: to create a level ground for education access.

This has seen development of two main projects both in an endeavor to enable disadvantaged kids have the basic items needed to access education comfortably. The projects include the "Kiatu for Education concert" held at Maseno university in mid july 2014. Attended by students and upcoming artists and poets. All proceeds from this event went out to buying shoes for 50 little kids in Nyamara primary school.

The second project being "Maseno university dance-a-thon", a dance drive for charity. People dance in the streets, around campus and in halls while raising money to support charity projects of spread a smile kenya. The first dance-a-thon will take place in mid september 2014 at Maseno university. Purpose to attend.

If you wish to take part in any of these fun charity events do get in touch with Njue Duncan M.
