People of wealthy neighborhoods are opposed to sharing spaces with the homeless. They don’t believe that they belong in a building on 57th Ave, known as “Billionaire’s Row.”

Why can’t homeless people and wealthy people co-exist in peace? What is it about giving homeless people shelter that threatens their quality of life?

Many Americans have little to no savings and are one paycheck away from homelessness.

A study shows that 44% of Americans surveyed said they couldn’t afford a $400 unexpected expense, such as a medical bill. A different study showed that merely 39% of Americans said that they could afford $1,000 unexpected bill.

If these people lose their jobs or miss a week or two due to unexpected illness, they could lose their housing.

Student loan debt and the high cost of housing in NYC make it extremely had for people to save.

It’s not going to be a good thing cause you’ve got the Marriott and Hyatt hotels right here,” said the super at an adjacent building. “So it looks like there’s going to be a war with de Blasio. He doesn’t have to put the homeless here, he could put them all in the armory on 2nd Avenue.”

This is wrong. Homeless people deserve the right to housing.

If you agree, show your support for the new homeless shelter being built on 57th Ave!
