Sherman De Jesus
Award-winning director and producer Sherman De Jesus started making documentaries for television and theatrical release, besides writing scripts and producing feature films. He founded Memphis Film & Televison together with producer Cécile van Eijk. The company has produced a large number of films for television and theatre. Memphis has worked with all the major broadcasters in the Netherlands and with coproduction partners in Europe. Managing director/producer Cécile van Eijk and producer Sherman de Jesus have been both creative and finance professionals.

Sherman De Jesus is one of the founders and first director of the Dutch Film Festival; he also launched the first Dutch Film Market and, in 1985 and was the initiator of the Cinema Militans Lecture. He was a member of the Golden Calf jury, a member of the steering group of the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam and was a board member and Treasurer of the Dutch Cultural Broadcasting Fund.
