Sree Sowmi Ananthasayanam

Hi, I’m Sree Sowmi A, a B.Tech student in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology with a strong interest in power systems, renewable energy, power electronics, electric vehicles (EVs), embedded systems, and intelligent energy infrastructure.

My work focuses on the intersection of electrical engineering, renewable energy, and intelligent system design. I am particularly interested in microgrids, energy management systems, MPPT algorithms, grid integration, power quality, and AI-driven energy optimization technologies.

I have research experience in machine learning-based fault diagnosis for grid-connected wind energy conversion systems (WECS), with publications in IEEE conferences including ICSPCRE'24 and IConSCEPT'25. My projects involve DFIG-based wind systems, hybrid microgrids, induction heating systems, transformer insulation testing, and CubeSat Electrical Power System (EPS) development.

I previously worked as a Summer Intern at Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, where I contributed to the development of a solar-powered docking system for an IoT-enabled air purification and UV disinfection platform. I am also an active member of the MTS Student Chapter and Materials Technology Society.

My technical skill set includes MATLAB/Simulink, COMSOL Multiphysics, ETAP, LabVIEW, PSIM, Python, LTSpice, and data-driven system modelling. Alongside technical research, I am deeply interested in future energy technologies, sustainable infrastructure, and innovation-driven engineering solutions.

Currently, I am strengthening my foundations in control systems and power systems while preparing for GATE 2027 and exploring opportunities in research, advanced engineering projects, and industry collaborations.

I’m actively seeking internships, research collaborations, and project opportunities in renewable energy systems, EV technologies, intelligent power systems, and advanced electrical engineering applications.
