About Sri Batamman

Sri Batamman is a forgotten Sri Lankan mythological god, a shadowed guardian believed to have survived outside written history.

His story was erased by kings, buried by invaders, silenced by rulers, and lost between ruined temples, burned manuscripts, submerged places, and village fear.

But not every story needs a book to survive.

Some stories remain in folklore.
Some live inside warnings.
Some are carried through whispers, rituals, masks, dreams, and shadows.

Sri Batamman is one of them.

He is not remembered as a gentle god.
He is remembered as a presence.
A watcher in the dark.
A judge of the unjust.
A guardian born when the land itself is wounded.

This page is an attempt to bring those erased stories back.

Through images, fragments, sightings, character studies, folklore notes, and visual archives, we are trying to uncover who Sri Batamman truly is — not as history recorded him, but as memory refused to lose him.

This is not just a myth.

This is the shadow Sri Lanka was forced to forget.
