Srijita Chattopadhyay is currently a student at the Western Kentucky University (WKU), majoring in Photojournalism and minoring in Psychology and History. She is an amateur Photojournalist striving to perfect the art of photojournalism. Other than knowing how to capture human emotions, she also enjoys Writing.
Writing came to her as poetry, which she has been writing from the 5th grade. And since then has been published by The College Heights Herald, WKU, The National, Abu Dhabi, The Statesman Newspaper, Kolkata and The Young Writers, United Kingdom.
Beyond photography and writing, she loves to do various voluntary jobs. Previously she was a volunteer at the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (a government owned hospital in Abu Dhabi) where she was awarded the best volunteer award. Currently she volunteers at the WKU Students Veterans Alliance.
Was an intern at The National as a Photojournalist.
Was nominated for The Young Journalist Award at The Dubai International Film Festival'12.
