In the early 1990's, before the Internet ramped up, my brother and I hosted a late night Bulletin Board System using a salvaged PC, a 2400 baud serial modem and our parents' telephone line. I was in middle school when we built our BBS using a program called Renegade, which was a predecessor to modern content management systems like WordPress. My brother handled the hardware and I found my niche designing "graphics" in the form of ANSI art.
