ST8TES OF BEING is an immersive exhibition of new works by Amanda Tan (@em.pyreal) and Irsyad Ishak (@sssssssyad) that meditates on the nature of existence and the complexities of the human condition.

Through transmedia installations and the moving image, the artists probe the tensions between time and eternity, individuality and plurality, freedom and predestination, and stillness and chaos, inviting visitors to reflect on and question their immediate self-perceptions as beings in the world.

What does it mean to be human? What does it mean to be self-aware? And how do individual selves relate to the wider communities and environments around them? ST8TES OF BEING showcases fresh artistic takes on these perennial questions, taking visitors through the proverbial looking glass into the left fields of human experience.
