After having children, what I was putting into my body and theirs starting becoming more and more important the older we got. The more research I did on food the more I kept finding that the 'extra' things they were putting in the food was toxic to the body and my digestive system had no idea what to do with it....my body would store it, and unfortunately in the wrong places. So, as I began to start eating cleaner I not only noticed that the weight came off and stayed off, I started feeling better. I began finding new ways to cook the foods we liked - I was getting bored with the same old meals every week. I have always been one to just 'throw' ingredients together and make a meal - sometimes its good and sometimes its not. One night we were all sitting at the table eating dinner (a new idea I threw together) and everyone liked it and asked if we could have it again. The only problem is I didn't write down what I did and the chances of making the exact thing again would be slim - Payton, my step-daughter, asked 'why don't you write it down'...so, I started writing down what I was cooking. I realized that I make up new recipes at least 3 or 4 times a week, so I've decided to share.I try to make my recipes easy to make and easy to prepare for busy families. Let me know what you think.
As a mother of 4 kids (2 of mine and 2 of my husbands) and a wife to a football coach, I started cooking cleaner and providing better nutrition for my family.
I am sharing my recipes, trials and successes, with you - including prep ideas and how to stay clean with lunches at work/school and on trips.
