Designer, researcher, and Facilitator in Chicago, Illinois
Hi, I'm Stacy, a researcher, strategist, and educator. Using human-centered design, I guide design teams who have a social mission and have collaborated with firms like The Social Impact Studio, Firebelly Design, and Borough + Block. I currently teach "Design Thinking and Doing" at Northwestern University and coordinate the Design for Good Breakfast Club with AIGA Chicago.
After a powerful social justice class in high school and a design-based international development project after college, there was no doubt that impact design was what I wanted to do. I previously led Design for America where I connected college students to their local communities, scaled DFA’s core program to support a rapidly expanding network, and transformed the culture and design practice within the national organization.
I built my foundation in problem-solving studying engineering and earned my Bachelor’s in Engineering Management from Miami University. I then took a deep dive in human-centered design and hold a Master’s of Science in Engineering Design and Innovation from Northwestern University. Right about now, you could probably find me checking on my homemade dough rising or playing with my niece and nephews.
