Stanley Kowalewski

A financial services professional and longtime basketball coach, Stanley Kowalewski divides his energy between professional commitments and volunteer service. A resident of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, he has fulfilled the role of Managing Director of The Argonaut Group LLC since February 2011. Stanley Kowalewski leads the organization, performing due diligence into money managers, providing oversight on critical decisions, and managing client portfolios. Since he launched his career nearly 20 years ago, Mr. Kowalewski has worked at five investment firms, gaining an intensive knowledge of industry procedures and best practices.

In addition to his investment career, Mr. Kowalewski devotes a portion of his time to coaching youth basketball. He volunteers as the Assistant Boy's Basketball Coach at Waccamaw Middle School in Pawleys Island, where he not only contributes to practices but also ensures that all players maintain a commitment to academics. In 2011, Stanley Kowalewski founded the South Carolina Gators program, which now includes five teams. As the league's President, he coordinates fundraising events, fulfills a number of administrative responsibilities, and coaches three teams.

Since 1995, Mr. Kowalewski has also served as Head Basketball Coach for the North Carolina Gaters Amateur Athletic Union. Working with youth of all ages, he has coached more than 1,200 games and has seen 77 of his former players earn college scholarships. Over the years, he has directed the basketball programs for several academic institutions, including Oak Ridge Military Academy, Northern Guilford High School, and High Point Central High School. A former high school and collegiate basketball player, Stanley Kowalewski spent four years playing Ivy League basketball for Dartmouth College. He graduated from the school in 1994 with a Bachelor's in Government.
