I was born in Hong Kong and I am currently a Software Engineer at Facebook. Before joining Facebook, I was a Research Staff Member at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. During 2012- Sep 2013, I serve as the Mobile PIC chair at IBM T.J Watson Research Center. I am senior member of IEEE. Most of my publications can be found here. Some of my research results were used in commercial Wireless Access Point.
I got my Ph.D. in the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), in the Computer Science Department, under the supervision of Professor Songwu Lu. Before coming to USA, I got a Master degree in The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), under the supervision of Professor John C.S. Lui. My research interests include wireless and mobile systems, computer networks, and large-scale network measurement and network analysis.
I enjoy hiking, cooking, watching movies, wine tasting and computer games. When I was a college student, I participated in multiple ACM programming contests, and won the 1st place in one of the Asia Regional content at Dhaka and 8th place in world final contest at 2000. Also, my best friend was leading a game development project (link) and I was lucky to develop the game with him. The game won Yahoo! Hong Kong Buzz Awards 2004 in TV Games Category and had been downloaded at least 9M times. Currently I still enjoy playing games like Starcraft I/II and Diablo I/II/III.
I speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Cantonese is my mother tongue language.
