Marina Stavropoulos

Student, Teacher, and School Administrator in Montréal

Yiasou! My name is Marina Stavropoulos and my interests are music, food, fitness, sports and animals. I'm a physical education major with teaching experience in K-12 PE, as well as high school math and science in Kahnawake, Québec and Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. In 2023 I made my way to Kitkatla, British Columbia where I added Connected Classrooms co-teacher, vice-principal and principal to my resume.

I'm passionate about working with First Nations and Inuit communities. I've learned so much about respect, Elders, reciprocity, the land, how medicine is used, traditional games, hunting, feats, the importance of patience and DEIJ principles to name a few. My experiences in these communities over the last 15 years has shaped the empathetic person I've become.

I'm currently back in Montréal and will most likely remain here until the end of this course. Using Data to Measure Organizational Success is my fourth course in the Educational Leadership certification program. I can say that using data isn't something I've done since my undergrad, nor is it my strength, but I'm looking forward to filling my toolbox as we work through these next few months together.

Looking forward to working with you folks.
