My name is Savannah Croxton and I am a student at UNCW studying general music with a focus in trombone. All my life i've had a passion for nature and wildlife, especially that of the ocean. Since the fifth grade I knew that I wanted to come to UNC-Wilmington, and since the sixth grade I aspired to be a marine biologist, but after coming to college I found myself in a practice room more and more and really found my love for music.
I prayed about what my purpose in life was really supposed to be, knowing that I've always had a passion in my heart to do for others and my life was forever changed by music, so I set my sights on music therapy. I was honored to have had the experience to work with my high school band director's daughter and her music therapist during my senior year of high school. Coupling that with the exposure i had with special education classrooms growing up through my mother's career and more experience as I took education courses in college, I knew that I had a chance to make a difference in someone's life through personal and professional musical interaction.
After completing my undergraduate degree I look forward to continuing my education in music therapy, the clinical use of music to accomplish individualized therapeutical goals, and hope to touch as many lives as possible through Life, Love, & Music.
