Mark Steacy

Kuching Sarawak Malaysia

Originally from Wexford, Ireland, I moved to South East Asia in 2009. Since then, I have been teaching in a wide variety of contexts in Cambodia and Malaysia. I am currently working at an international school in Borneo in Eastern Malaysia where I am teaching ESL to K-6 students and Physics to Year 10 and 11 IGCSE students. I am also a class tutor for a class of Year 9 students, the liaison teacher for the Students Council and the Captain of the Yellow House. I believe that every young person should have a caring, secure and stimulating environment to help them grow and mature cognitively, emotionally, socially and physically. I belive that learning should be engaging, relevant, active and challenging but achievable for children. Teachers should be striving to improve themselves for the benefit of our learners and fellow staff. I am dedicated to helping improve not on my own skills, but that of my colleagues and PLN.
