I am an amateur photographer currently enrolled in the Digital Photography program at Durham College. Born in December 3rd 1991 in Scarborough and raised in Bowmanville, with interests ranging from video games to astronomy.
I got into skateboarding at an early age thanks to my childhood friends. Constant competition with each other helped refine our skills at a quick rate, and before long we were borrowing our parents cameras to take pictures and videos of our progress. Unfortunately, after a mishap that resulted in the destruction of my dad's compact digital camera, I hesitated to touch another camera until a year after graduating from highschool.
After being convinced into shooting some photos for a friend, I decided to look into buying a DSLR of my own. One year later I had a brand new Nikon D5000 and began shooting photos for friends and family. Once I had amassed a good amount of experience, I began taking photos for local skateboarding competitions and events, had a photo published in the Sunday Star newspaper, as well as helping out with my father’s non-profit organization.
After finishing up my post secondary education, my hopes are to become a photographer and filmer in the skateboarding industry. Contributing to a reputable skateboarding magazine has been an ambition of mine for the past couple years, and by perfecting my skills at Durham College I aim to make this a reality.
