Stefan Hyman

Stefan Hyman is the Director of Enrollment Communications in the Office of Enrollment and Retention Management at Stony Brook University, where he manages online recruitment and many of the University's social media channels. He's received invitations to speak at numerous national higher education conferences, and has been quoted in many news outlets including The Chronicle of Higher Education, GigaOM, and The New York Times.
Stefan received his Bachelor's in Musical Studies from SUNY Potsdam and his Master's in Music History from Stony Brook University. As a Ph.D. A.B.D. in Musicology, Stefan's research focused on issues of race, nationalism, and technology in 20th century music.
He's taught courses in both the Music Department and the Honors College on topics such as digital music, history of rock and roll, the Beatles and the 1960s, and music and politics.
