Stefan Masuhr

Stefan Masuhr is an experienced chief operating officer with experience of working for some of the biggest and most profitable banks in the world.

Stefan’s journey into the financial world began by earning his Master’s degree in Economics and Business at the Ruhr-Universitat in the German city of Bochum. The Ruhr-Universitat has a reputation for being one of the strongest academic institutions in Germany in the field of economics, and was recently ranked as the third best course of its kind in the country.

Stefan learned Japanese as an additional part of his studies, which prepared him for several internships in Tokyo with reputable companies including Allianz, Meiji Seimei Life Insurance and Dresdner Bank. The Japanese capital remains Stefan’s favourite city to visit worldwide and it is also where he gained his first senior roles within the financial industry.

During Stefan’s time in Tokyo, he worked his way up to become a senior manager at WestLB Securities Ltd before departing to take a director role at Westdeutsche Landesbank. This job took him across Asia to Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as Tokyo and it was in Singapore that he went on to settle for over a decade.

As the head of Funds and Managed Investment Solutions at Deutsche Bank in Singapore, Stefan was tasked with leading debt restructuring operations across South Asia, as well as governing the bank’s Fund and Trust formation business that encompassed private equity and principal finance.

After four years with Deutsche Bank, Stefan moved to the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in 2010 to become the managing director of Structuring Asia-Pacific Markets. In just two years, Stefan had successfully crafted the firm’s APAC structuring to transform it into a £120m business, as well as maintaining direct and regular contact with clients across the world.

Stefan went on to hold several more senior roles for RBS in Singapore – including head of Capital and Portfolio Management APAC – before starting work at the RBS London office in May 2016. Stefan is currently the chief operating officer of Capital Resolution, which involves leading and motivating a sizable workforce, spearheading organisational strategies and developing in-depth business plans to help grow the company in line with their aims. Stefan is a keen traveller and covers approximately 300,000 miles annually through his varied work. He also enjoys playing golf in his down time.
