Hi, my name is Stefan Mentil, I am a DP living in LA. I have been shooting commercials, television shows, corporate videos, documentaries and features since 1999. My strongest attribute is Lighting, I specialize in lighting narrative films, lighting for green screen, lighting product shots, lighting commercials and lighting interviews for all genres.

I first started in the film industry I worked as a 1st AC and I was very lucky to have worked for a couple different world renowned cinematographers and Directors of Photography. I was able to learn and study their lighting set ups and lighting techniques. Working in television on HBO shows for example "John from Cincinnati" really taught me how to light for narrative films, I learned that the light had to be motivated & realistic, it's cheap to just add lights because they look cool on camera, anyone can do that, it's an actual craft to have the light coming from a motivated source and then shaping it so it looks amazing on screen.
