Victor Frankenstein
Geneva, Switzerland
I was born in Geneva, Switzerland to a wealthy family that would travel around Europe. On one of our trips we adopted a young girl who would become my repsonsibility and the love of my life. Eventually we would become married but my obsession to achieve a great sceintific accomplishment will ruin our marriage. But on a brighter note, ever since I was a little boy I had wanted to become an intellectual. I was enticed by the ideas of Cronelius Agrippa, Pracelsus, and Albertus Magnus. But my father instead of enlightening me said, "Ah! Cornelius Agrippa! My dea Victor, do not waste your time upon this; it is sad trash"(Ch. 2, Pg. 24, lines 28-9). My studies led me to attend the University of Ingolstad, where I learned that what i had been studying had become outdated. I thus, mastered all of the modern sciences, especially chemistry (Pg. 35). I grew a deep devotion to find the secret of life (Pg. 36-7). With this information I attempted to create the perfect human being. But, to my dismay when I had completed my work I saw that all I had done was create a hideous monster (Pg. 42). This was where my perils began. The monster escaped my home and attacked my family; killing my brother (Pg. 56). The monster did not stop here he continued to haunt me. He took me into a cave where he demanded that I either end his life or create another creature as a campanion. If I chose not to he would kill the rest of my friends and family (Pg. 127). I have not decided yet if I should take on the task, but what other choice do I have?
