where I am coming from...
I was born in Paris in 1974, from an Italian father and a Basque mother. In my childoud, I kept playing with my father's brand new Nikon F2 !
During my studies, I used to go to a photograph club in my home town. One day, I had the opportunity to meet a professional photographer, James Gely. Contact was great. A few weeks later, I contacted him and visited his studio... And then it hit me. I told myself : "photographer, this is what I want to do in my life !" I was sixteen...
... what I did...
Guided through this passion, I entered a professional photograph school in Paris. My first portfolio in hands, I started as a free-lance assistant for professional photographers working in advertising, decoration and in studios such as la Camif, and finally magazines such as ShowBoats int., House & Garden, Conde Nast Traveler, Vogue etc.
My passions for boats, photography and mountain drove me to Corsica.
... where I am going to...
My work fits in the tradition of the different photographer I worked with, in keeping my own sensibility and my own photographic style. After a 15-year experience working with a 4x5 inches camera, I adopted digital technology. Thanks to series of tests and trainings, I have obtained a result at least better than I used to have with the tradionnal large format film, giving a finest rendering of my feeling in atmosphere, rendering in textures, giving me preciselly what I can catch with my eye and I know exactly, when I press the button how the final picture is going to be. I am still thinking "Pure Photography"
I am working for international press and luxury editions, as well as for famous designers and shipyards. I am also collaborating with local magazines, Gites de France Corsica, and musiciens.
My photography masters, as far as light and pictures are concerned are Ansel Adams, Henry Cartier-Bresson, Jacques-Henri Lartigue, Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock.
