I’ve spent more than three decades shaping stories across photography, film, and advertising. I grew up in the African bush and on the beaches of Cape Town and Malibu, a childhood that shaped my sense of adventure and curiosity. My career began in Europe in the 1980s, shooting fashion for Vogue and Marie Claire, before moving into music videos, television, and large-scale brand campaigns. Since then, I’ve directed and produced more than 300 films in all sorts of formats and built global production systems for some of the world’s most iconic companies.
For many years, I served as Chief Production Officer and Managing Director at BBDO Germany, helping to lift the agency to the #1 creative ranking in the country. Today, I design production ecosystems that blend creativity with technology and sustainability — significantly raising creative effectiveness, increasing agility, and driving productivity at scale.
Along the way, I pioneered one of the first carbon calculators for film production, judged international juries including Cannes Lions, and spoken at SXSW, AICP, APA, ADC, WFA, and Cannes.
I am fluent in four languages and conversant in two more. I launched and hosted the Regielounge — the largest regular film and advertising event in Europe for over 15 years. I am also the founder of the Royal Lesotho Horse Riding Society in Berlin. Happily married, I live in Germany with my wife, three children, and our large standard poodle, Bwana, who accompanies me on long daily walks in the forest — my exercise, meditation, and inspiration.
