Onika Stellingburg
Stakeholder Management Coordinator in Georgetown, Guyana
Onika Stellingburg is a Climate Change Fellow with the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) which is an ad hoc lobby and negotiating voice for Small Island States (SIDS) within the United Nations System. She is the first Guyanese selected and is stationed at Guyana’s Permanent Mission to the UN as an advisor with a focus on issues on the 2030 Sustainable Agenda and Climate Change while being trained as a Climate Negotiator. Onika is skilled in project management and evaluation, communication, climate change and the environment. These skills have complimented national projects in Guyana that sought to make primary and secondary students aware of climate change (the science, its impacts etc.). Onika is also a Global Shaper with the Georgetown Hub, and the Stakeholder Management Coordinator within the Ministry of the Presidency – Department of Environment. She has worked on the development of a 15 year developmental strategy to transition Guyana into a Green State. Regardless of where she goes she tries to let others feel the love of God through her actions as she continues to live a life of grace and favor.
