Bonjour, my name is Stephane Clement, I'm French, and I live half my time in Paris and the other half in Rennes, Brittany, (it’s to the west of France).

My first experiences in photography go back to when I was 18 years old. At the time, I was working with black and white film, and I had the pleasure of working both behind and in front of the camera.

After a brief break and following the direction of graphic design, I started to seriously get back into photography in the mid 2000's and now, it’s difficult for me to go anywhere without my camera.

With regards to travel, you should know that us, Briton people, we are either end of two extremes. We are either the stay at home-loving, never venture far kind or the opposite, are sailors, adventurers or explorers. It’s this side, people who go away, travelers that I have taken after! My first memory of this desire to travel was when I was 14, when I organised a tour of Europe by scooter. Not an easy expedition without internet in the 80s!

I am very involved in the world of travel, backpackers and independent travelers; including being the director and animator for a web-tv show where I interview adventurers and travelers from all over France.

My love of travel runs deep inside me. I dream about landscapes, huge spaces, meeting and experiencing other cultures. Discovering the contrasts of big cities, but to also meet the most isolated local people who are living as simple life as possible. Above all I love the simplicity of the way I travel. Just me and my backpack and the world at large. I have travelled to many places including Latin America, Africa, India, both west and eastern Europe and also many parts of Asia. I would love to combine both my passions of travel and phototgraphy.

Today, in my photography work, I'm attracted to the details that seem insignificant in the every day life in foreign countries. Details that are easily overlooked and can be missed, but are beautiful in their own right - textures - structure - shapes. I like to meet new people and discover their story. I try to capture this story, their uniqeness in my photogrpahy, their faces, expressions and attitudes.

Merci beaucoup et à bientôt!
