Currently an Apparel Design student at the University of Delaware while pursuing a minor in Fashion History and Culture. Through my designs, I hope to change the way people feel about fashion, to think differently about the world and to show who are through fashion. I love to create back stories for all of my works so the audience can connect and understand my ideas a new level. I want to move people by not only what they see, but what it makes them feel when looking, showing that we all have stories that need to be told but it may not be known unless people are willing to learn.
In previous internships, I have acquired skills such as pattern grading, pattern making, international communication, marker efficiency, and an in depth use of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I have learned in those internships how to create product lines of forty garments through the use of one fabric, as well as the draping and creating of the garments. My internships have not only taught me the fundamentals for running a small fashion company, but also how to work with others to make sure our goal has been accomplished.
My biggest influences in the fashion world are Alexander McQueen and Donatella Versace because they take the idea of the "normal" and transform it into ideas that were never thought of before. They show us we all l have a voice that needs to be heard and not to be afraid.
My goal in the industry is to become a product developer or assistant designer who brings a new creative platform of designs with an edgy sophistication. If I am not found in the lab you can find me curled up on the couch with my favorite book and my comfy pajama pants.
