Stephanie Orme

I am currently a first-year PhD student at The Pennsylvania State University College of Communications, where I study feminist media studies.

As a scholar, I am interested in feminist studies of "geek" culture. Through examination of television, film, video games, the internet, and the tech industry as a whole, I explore how women seek to create and maintain a niche for themselves in a cultural sphere that remains, in many ways, a male-centric and male-dominated world.
