Stephanie Southall

Stephanie Southall is a Health and Human Resources Specialist, Senior with the Bureau for Behavior Health and Health Facilities In this role, Stephanie identifies evidence based practices, procures and distributes informational resources, assists providers as it relates to achievement of the Comprehensive Substance Abuse Strategic Action Plan, and provides technical assistance and training. She is developing and distributing a weekly electronic newsletter that will cover data and research, evidence based programs and practices, funding and partnering opportunities, and workforce capacity opportunities as they relate to the prevention, early intervention, treatment, and recovery of Substance Use and Mental Health Disorders.
Prior to joining the Research and Resources Team at the Bureau for Behavioral Health and Health Facilities, Stephanie served for five years in the Housing and Residence Life Department at West Virginia Wesleyan College as the Residence Life Coordinator for Judicial Programs and then as the Director of Student Activities and Judicial Coordinator at Glenville State College, also for five years. In both of these positions, Stephanie facilitated alcohol, drug and violence prevention programming. Having gained this experience in prevention, Stephanie began working with the West Virginia Prevention Resource Center in April, 2007 as the Underage Drinking Prevention Specialist. In that role, she staffed the Underage Drinking Prevention Workgroup, a multi-agency statewide task force that collaborates on the issue of underage drinking. During her time at the WV Prevention Resource Center, Stephanie received training in the following:

- Community Trials Intervention to Address High Risk Alcohol UseTIPS (Training on Intervention Procedures) Responsible Beverage Service Training of Trainers
Additionally, Stephanie is the WV SADD State Co-Coordinator for Programming and is Vice Chair for the WV Collegiate Initiative to Address High Risk Alcohol Use.
