Stephanie Stenta
Stephanie Stenta currently works at a sub-acute adolescent psychiatric facility in Southern California, as the Admissions and Discharge Coordinator, where she was promoted after several months working as a Primary Therapist. In 2009, Stephanie Stenta earned a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education, eight years after she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She has used both her degrees throughout her career. In 2008, Stephanie Stenta began serving as a Counselor for the Triumph Charter Academy Middle School in San Fernando, California. Her caseload included as many as 14 students experiencing difficulties with depression, ADHD or identity formation. Stephanie Stenta also provided family therapy as part of her responsibilities at the school. Stephanie Stenta moved to Triumph Charter Academy after a brief period as a Counselor with The Peacock Foundation. Working at the foundation’s location in North Hollywood and in various locations around Los Angeles county, Stephanie Stenta provided animal-assisted therapy to at-risk children. Designed to alleviate stress and other symptoms of trauma, this form of group therapy helped improve positive social skills, such as sharing and empathy. From 2007 to 2008, Stephanie Stenta served as a Counseling Aide at Pacific Treatment Centers, a private drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in Hollywood. This gave her experience leading groups focusing on anger management, women’s issues, and relapse prevention. She also conducted one-on-one counseling sessions, assisted with crisis intervention, and accompanied clients to 12-step meetings. Stephanie Stenta also lent her efforts, on a volunteer basis, to the Bella Mar Alzheimer’s Care Center. In the world of performing arts, Stephanie Stenta held a position as a Casting Assistant with Firefly Casting in Los Angeles. The two-year stint, from 2004 to 2006, gave her a first-hand view of activity within a busy casting office as she worked on behalf of two well-respected casting directors. In addition to supervising interns, working the phones, and resolving database issues, Stephanie Stenta arranged audition schedules for television and film productions and liaised with directors, producers, managers, and talent agents.
