First off, thanks for visiting my blog. There are plenty of fitness and nutrition related blogs and websites around, so there is a lot of meaning behind someone visiting my blog in particular.

Formalities aside, here is a little about me. I am not a dietician nor am I any type of fitness expert. In fact, I am an accountant. I am not an expert in any type of nutrition or fitness. I do, however, lead an active, healthy lifestyle and want to share that with others. In my journey to fitness, I have endured and overcome many challenges that I know many of you face as well. In this blog, I hope to unveil some of the uncertainties of nutrition and fitness and give everyone a trustworthy, honest place to get information.

I am no fitness guru, and I have a real life. I work 40+ hours a week at an office and I sometimes just flat out don’t have the energy at the end of the day to go to the gym. I like to go out with my husband and my friends, and I like to have a drink or eat a cookie every now and then. I am not going to lie to you about any of that. I am a real person and have real struggles in life. I also enjoy the outdoors and love hiking, rock climbing, snow skiing, etc. which requires a level of fitness. This is my motivation for becoming healthier and stronger. My goal in this blog is to bring some realism to the wonderful world of fitness.

My husband Nathan also blogs about his fitness adventures, as well as some additional motivation and training. He is a coach and is much more knowledgeable about health and fitness than I am, and I learn so much from him every day. All of my training is with him, and he will be helping me, as he has for many years, to improve physically and mentally. Here is a shameless plug for KrakenBarbell.com. I hope you can learn something from him as well!

DISCLAIMERS: I have to mention a few existing conditions that affect my fitness and nutrition, and should be considered by anyone reading this or taking any advice from me.

First, I am allergic to milk – more specifically whey protein. That is why you will see soy milk, soy protein, etc. Please do not take this as a more healthy option. I believe that whey protein and cow’s milk are better for you in many cases. However, I simply cannot have those.

Secondly, I have low blood sugar and must eat on a more regular basis and keep snacks with me. Luckily, I believe this is a healthier option and I believe that snacks, if eaten
