Stephen Charlesworth

Bloomington, IN

I was born at a very young age, and attended a series of schools of gradually increasing difficulty.

From there I took a series of jobs having to do with programming and databases. I survived the grand purge that was the dotcom crash and carried on in the field which eventually became known as IT to this day.

In 2009 I fell in with a group of cool people in Bloomington, Indiana who liked to make things and take things apart, and we founded Indiana's first makerspace, Bloominglabs. We work on cool projects together in a large shared workspace. It's a lot of fun. It's been great watching it go from an idea to a reality. A 3,100 sq. ft reality. Stop by Wednesday nights at 7pm if you're around.

In the tech arena my interests are databases (SQL Server, PostGres, also interested in NoSQL and Spatial data), programming (esp Python) and the fabled 'Internet of Things' (I have placed numerous things on the Internet, including sensors around Bloominglabs and a Candy Machine).

I also like sharing my interests and projects with people young and old, speaking at schools or conducting workshops, or just brainstorming and sharing ideas at the space. Get in touch if you share my interests and would like to talk.
