Stephen Ndzeidze

Dr. Stephen Koghan Ndzeidze is from the English speaking part of Cameroon in Central Africa. He went to Saint Raphael Catholic primary school and later to the Government Secondary and High school Jakiri his native village where he obtained Ordinary and Advanced Level General Certificate of Education.
He then moved to the French speaking part of Cameroon and obtained a Bachelors degree in Geography (June 1999), Maîtrise (March 2001) and DEA (DiplÔme d'Etude Approfondi, February 2005) from the University of Yaoundé I.
Stephen was then awarded a Fulbright Scholarship (June, 2006) to pursue his studies at University of California at Davis where he obtained an International Diploma on United State Culture and Communication (August 2006) and the Department of Geosciences Oregon State University, where he obtained a Master's of Science degree (August 2008) in geography, and a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Science, and a Ph.D. in Rangeland Ecology and Management in College of Agricultural Sciences.
Currently Stephen is a Postdoctoral fellow at Oregon State University, researching on "applied landscape ecology and geospatial sciences in food security issues" with the Integrated Plant Protection Center.
Stephen have become adept in the use of geographic information science, remote sensing and cartographic techniques and application in landscape ecology and geospatial analysis for rangelands and other natural resources of Sub Saharan Africa and United States of America. As a Graduate Research Assistant he emphasize his studies on detection, mapping and monitoring the effects of managerial actions on landscape ecology using spatial and temporal analysis models in GIS and Remote Sensing in rangelands, wetlands and riparian, water and forest resources.
Stephen's academic and professional career has focused on achieving a strong background in natural resource management information system, research, education, and consulting at local, national, and international levels. Stephen served as the Western Regional Representative for National Black Graduate Student Association (NBGSA - USA March 2010 to March 2011). Representing graduate and professional scholars in the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming,. Stephen also have membership in the Society for Rangeland Management, Wetland Professionals, ESRI ArcUser, Society for Wetlan
