Stephen Chen is a Partner at Kentmoore Capital. He is an experienced allocator to specialty finance companies and emerging alternative managers focused on consistent, attractive, risk-adjusted net returns for our clients. He has a specialty in asset-based lending, litigation finance, and real estate.
He was previously an Investment Director for a New York-based family office. The family focused on hospitality and consumer finance. Previously, he lead the Emerging Markets Investment Banking team at Oppenheimer Investments AG. Prior to Oppenheimer, Stephen was a Vice President at J.P. Morgan and Bear Stearns.
Stephen is a member of the US Chamber of Commerce in New York City. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, New York Investment Network, Queens Economic Development Corporation Business Plan Judge, and Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE).
Stephen's work has been covered by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Fox News, ABC, and NBC. He has spoken at Yale, Brown, NYU, and Columbia University and is the recipient of the Orphans International Global Citizenship Award, the Dragon 100 Fellowship, and the C.V. Starr Fellowship. Stephen was educated at the NYU School of International Business & Finance and the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Brown University.
