Stephen Algino
Student in Bloomington, Indiana
I am a Freshman at Indiana University Bloomington. My experience interning in a marketing role peaked my interest in business, and now I am taking pre-business classes in Indiana University before entering Kelley School of Business.
From an academic perspective, I am an individual who always tries to understand the main concept on different problems, and I am a competitive student. When I deal with mathematics, I do not only focus on memorizing the formula, but I prefer to solve problems by completing multiple practice set in order to understand the main concepts. To deal with different subjects, I do not only memorize facts, I find examples to support the facts for the purpose of understanding the whole concept from facts or theories.
From a non-academic perspective, I am a person who enjoys business activities, non-profit organizations, and volunteering. First, I had the opportunity to intern as a marketing assistant. I led regular presentations about the company's products and technologies to a variety of customers. I also took a role in advertising company products through social media. Second, I was selected as one of the Event Organizers by the Indonesian Student Association in Seattle, Washington. I led brainstorming to plan several big events and organized several fund-raising events. Third, I volunteered for the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Huskies games as the shop volunteer by IVAR’s.
In summary, I am a person who enjoys solving problems, communication skills, brainstorming, and consistency. My strengths are demonstrated through my experience interning, involvment in organizations, and volunteering.
