Stephen Borg

Stephen Borg’s family has been in the New Jersey newspaper business since 1920, when his great-grandfather John Borg bought a portion of The Evening Record, Bergen County, New Jersey’s daily community newspaper. The family newspaper has since been renamed The Record, and the Borg family media business has expanded to encompass multiple newspapers, a half-dozen glossy magazines, and Internet news sites all serving the communities of Northern New Jersey. The company includes its own 350,000-square-foot printing and distribution facility, which is currently undergoing a major upgrade to install more than 20,000 solar panels to provide nearly half of all the electrical power needs of the production plant. The solar initiative is the latest action taken by Stephen Borg’s family business during its 91-year history to stay current and competitive while serving the communities of Northern New Jersey.

Stephen Borg currently serves as the President of the North Jersey Media Group and is the fourth generation of the Borg family to lead the company. Stephen Borg received his Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College and his Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School. Prior to his time at Columbia, he also attended Poynter Institute’s Media Management program, further enhancing his base of knowledge and experience. Stephen Borg’s company has since expanded into the Internet age of media reporting by launching mobile applications for news and sports.
