Dr. Stephen Carolan M.D.

Across his 23-year medical career, Dr. Stephen Carolan has worked in a variety of positions within the field of obstetrics and gynecology. After fulfilling a four-year residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center, he commenced his practice at Rye Brook OB/GYN PC which he latter helped to merge into Westchester Medical Group. Also known as the WESTMED Medical Group, the group is home to the largest assembly of private practitioners located in central Westchester County. Next, he accepted the position of Chairman of the New York Hospital Medical Center’s obstetrics and gynecology division from 1997 to 2001. Most recently, Dr. Stephen Carolan works as the Director of the Obstetrics (OB) and Gynecology Department at Connecticut’s Greenwich Hospital. In this role, he designed the facility’s OB Hospitalist/Laborist program and assisted in the creation of the Greenwich Hospital in vitro fertilization (IVF) program. Founded in 1903, the hospital’s main campus consists of two sections, the Helmsley Medical Building and the Thomas & Olive C. Watson Pavilion. An academic affiliate of the Yale School of Medicine, Greenwich Hospital has granted Dr. Stephen Carolan authority in selecting new obstetricians for his division.

Dr. Stephen Carolan attended New York Medical College and graduated 2nd in his class of 207 students. He received a General Excellence Scholarship and was named a Harrison Scholar. Additionally, Dr. Stephen Carolan earned a spot within Alpha Omega Alpha, a national honor society for professionals in medicine during his years in medical school. Currently, Dr. Stephen Carolan is involved with several other organizations within the field of medicine, including the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
