Cyber Security, Exposure Management, and Threat Intelligence in Leeds, United Kingdom

I’m the Head of Cyber Security at DLA Piper, where I lead the team defending one of the world’s top law firms across 40+ countries. Over 15 years I’ve built and run functions from the ground up, driving security engagement, turning threat intelligence into actionable response, and aligning security strategy so the business can operate at the speed of change. I’m currently experimenting with the use of AI in cyber defence and assurance, and I recently wrote The Cyber Tabletop Handbook to help other teams run better incident response exercises.

I’m an enthusiastic collaborator who builds high-performing teams and believes security culture is what people do when nobody is watching. I‘m a chartered security architect and believe in the power of guardrails, safe defaults and secure-by-design. I’m a huge advocate for infosec community and public discourse. I co-founded DC151 (Leeds’ DEF CON group) and BSides Leeds. I speak regularly at industry conferences on threat intelligence, exposure management and incident response.
