Stephen Gayheart
As owner and Chief Executive Officer of Gayheart Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Stephen Gayheart directs the company's operations, sales, and finances. Specializing in packaging for pharmaceutical products and cosmetics, Gayheart Pharmaceuticals has held contracts with such clients as Kaiser Permanente and Procter & Gamble. Mr. Gayheart also oversees the company's purchasing and production operations, which include heat sealing, blister packing, and shrink wrapping. Gayheart Pharmaceuticals was founded in 1983 in Clearwater, Florida, and purchased by Stephen Gayheart in 1998. The same year, he also purchased Biddiscombe Laboratories (currently Biddiscombe International, LLC), which leads the industry in organic sunless tanning products. In 2011, he sold Biddiscombe for a substantial profit.
Before his work with Gayheart Pharmaceuticals and Biddiscombe Laboratories, Mr. Gayheart owned and operated International Labs, Inc., from 1986 to 1998. Located in St. Petersburg, Florida, International Labs is an FDA-registered company that packages both prescription and over-the-counter pharmaceutical products. Prior to that, Mr. Gayheart launched his career as a Manager of Vangaurd Labs, a subsidiary of the major pharmaceutical company Owens & Minor, Inc., based in Glasgow, Kentucky. Mr. Gayheart directed Vanguard’s purchasing, sales, and production operations. Between 1983 and 1986, he increased the company's revenues eightfold, ultimately bringing in amounts in excess of $8 million.
Stephen Gayheart graduated from the University of Richmond in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He worked his way through college and held membership in a variety of organizations, including Phi Kappa Sigma International Fraternity. Currently, Mr. Gayheart belongs to the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the American Nutrition Association. He donates to several global and national charities, including Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières, the World Food Programme, the 9/11 Compensation Fund, The American National Red Cross, and the American Cancer Society. On the local level, Mr. Gayheart participates in activities at his church and supports Habitat for Humanity International, as well as the United Way Worldwide. When not at work, Mr. Gayheart enjoys fishing, boating, and playing golf.
