Stephen began his career with the launch of his first business whilst still at College. Following the successful sale of that business, and a period in Estate Agency, he went on to establish a number of other companies in diverse arenas. In 1995, approached by Prudential he joined their newly formed 'Private Financial Planning Division'.

Following a fairly unremarkable start he found himself frustrated by the 'employee mentality' took the 'leap of faith' to return to his entrepreneurial roots. He moved to a small National IFA to focus on his own business owner clients but soon took on the leadership of the Operations and subsequently appointed to the Board.

Following the private placing of the group Stephen was instrumental in the formation and delivery of the network side for practices turning over in excess of £240,000.

Needing a new challenge, and turning his back on his shareholding, he joined the Sumus Group. Following the merger with Lighthouse he was appointed Managing Director of the enlarged regulatory business.

As a qualified adviser with a broad range of skills and experience he has delivered significant leadership, change and restructure whilst managing and understanding all stakeholders.

Outside of work Stephen is married with 2 young children. In 2010 Stephen's daughter (14 months old at the time) was struck down with meningitis before luckily making a full recovery. He has subsequently become a trustee of Meningitis UK - a charity focused on the eradication of the disease.
