As a senior technical PM, I have a unique background. I started my career as a network engineer and have a very strong technical background in both network, systems, and software. Earlier in my career, I worked on a number of Sourceforge projects, and was the founder of the Jumper 2.0 project (now ApexKB - http://bit.ly/1hSWnmI).

When I was employed at Infonet (acquired by BT in 2005), I rose through the ranks to become a manager of both pre-sales and support engineers on the east coast and have proven management experience which has been enormously valuable as a project manager. I left Infonet to join Vanco ( a global telcom consultancy), along with other members of the Infonet management team.

In 2007, I found my second career. When Vanco experienced some significant accounting improprieties, the company's shares were suspended on the LSE and CEO Allen Timpany resigned. The London office was closed, and I was thrust into an economy in turmoil. A friend suggested I look at a contract position at Genzyme, where the genetics division was preparing a significant upgrade of the their lab systems and storage architecture.

I thrived in the role of a technical project manager, which allowed my unique skill set of both deep technical knowledge and management experience in IT Operations to successfully lead cross-team/vendor engagements in a global organization and deliver projects on-time, and on-budget.
