I have been working in Marketing for almost ten years and as a conscientious kind of chap, I have always followed the latest trends and innovations in marketing - I studied marketing at university and a marketer is really all I have ever wanted to be.
Over the past ten years I have learnt a lot.
And although it is only a relatively short period, the way we now market has changed dramatically, the focus is now on tracking marketing and proving ROI, ten years ago it was about visibility and making an impact. The role of a marketer has changed to incorporate a more technical and process driven way of doing things.
Now more than ever there is a focus on methodical, planned marketing. This doesn’t mean we are no longer creative, it simply means it is no longer just about ”colours and shapes” (as one of my previous colleagues described it!).
Marketing is simple when done correctly, my aim is to add some clarity in this ever clouded marketing world we live.
