He is currently the National Manager of an Education Charity establishing new franchises and liaising with external agencies to develop diverse intervention strategies to raise academic and social aspirations of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
He has worked within the voluntary and community sector for over twenty years and has initiated several personal development initiatives, including accredited mentoring programs, social enterprise development, rites of passage programs for young men and national awards for contribution to the BME community.
He is a board member of several national and regional organisations (including political, faith and business) and is committed to working to effect positive change especially for the most disadvantaged people. As a Lay Assessor for West Midland Police Service he is actively involved with the recruitment of Police Officers and is frequently asked to comment on Equality and Diversity Impact Assessments within the organisation.
Since 1996 within the role as a community consultant and Business Advisor he has assisted numerous groups and individuals to set up businesses and Social Enterprises and has risen over £6 million to support them.
His work has been recognised by several institutions including an award for contribution to the Black Community in 2003 by TORA a Jamaican oversees relief agency and the Jamaican High Commission, in 2004 he was presented a plaque by West Midlands Fire Service for outstanding Contribution to the community. In 2006 he facilitated and lead a delegation of leading practitioners from the UK to Pittsburgh USA to explore best practice “Rites of Passage” programs. In 2009 he was presented with a Heroes Award from the Institute of Jamaican Nationals. In 2011 he was an award for Social Action by Citizens UK and entered into the Stafford College Hall of Fame.
As a qualified Adult Education teacher he is an accomplished presenter and conference speaker he frequently speaks in churches, schools, universities and professional forums. He has recently been appointed as an External Advisor to Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation).
